Hallway to Hell

Hallway to Hell
You know that dream you have every night? It never changes but you still fear it? You know everything about to happen but somehow you play into the fantasy of death.

Alone. Always alone.
The hallway is dark, a single light illuminates the long dark expanse of nothingness.
Hundreds of doors opening into thousands of horrors.

Cameron opened her eyes and looked up at the ceiling, mind spinning she desperately tried to remember where she was or how she got there. She couldn't though, she had no memory. No memory of life before the darkness at all. She tried to remain calm but the sense of panic was growing within her. She got to her feet and walked to the first door, she reached for the knob and to her surprise it opened with ease. She took a step into the dark room and although she could see nothing she felt it was endless, a huge expanse of barren landscape. She pulled herself back into the hallway and slammed the door shut, fearful of what terrible creature could be lurking within.

Shaking she knew she had to move on, she snuck up to the next door and grabbed the handle. Slow and hesitant she turned the handle and pushed open the door. The door creaked and swung open, she peered inside. It seemed like a smaller area than the last room so she stepped inside. The walls appeared to be glowing and in their light she saw that they were painted a dark red. She found a switch on the wall and flipped it up. A horrible grinding noise and then an awful squelching noise and the sounds of raw human flesh being turned into a mush. She turned to escape back into the hallway but the door slammed shut nearly taking off her fingers. She turned slowly to face the room again and to her horror the red walls had started to move, bloods rushed down then and pooled on the ground at her feet. There was nothing she could do, the door was locked and there were no windows or weak spots on the walls. It seemed like just minutes later when her head touched the ceiling, she saw her end near. Drowning...in a million strangers blood. She closed her eyes and waited for her inevitable end, she prayed it would end quickly. Thick, sour blood flooded into her ears and mouth and covered her head. Just as she took her last breath she opened her eyes and saw a little row boat coming nearer and nearer to her, floating along in the lake of blood. She gave in the sinking feeling inside of her and slowly drifted down to the bottom of the lake of blood.

Coughing she opened her eyes and found herself back in the hallway. Standing up she wiped her eyes and looked down at her hands. They were covered in dried blood, her whole body was covered as well. She had no idea where she was going to go next but she knew she promised herself she would never open another door again. Suddenly she heard her name being called! "Cameron! Cameron!" She whipped her head up and saw all the way down the hallway was her best friend Kevin, jumping up and down and screaming for her to run! She turned to look behind her but there was nothing there, she looked to Kevin again and he was staring off behind her at some unseen monster. He yelled louder and the sense of panic grew inside of her once again. She began to run but the second she tried to move her feet they became lead. Dragging along as fast as she could she frantically raced toward her friend, as he urged her on he became more and more distant, his voice was fading and so was he. She looked up, straining her eyes she caught the last glimpse of her fading friend, he disappeared completely from sight. She stopped running and panting she looked around, assessing her surroundings she found herself at the edge of a bottomless pit, at the brink of hell, and the end of life itself.
