There were 13 of us in the beginning. It was a huge mistake, walking into that hospital. If I had known my friends would have died I would never have suggested it.
July 2003. Getting close to midnight. My friends and I had been out in the town. There were six girls, Caitlyn, Sophie, Saskia, Rachel and Rosalia and Megan, and seven boys, me, James, Charlie, Connor, Chris, Joe and David. We were all a bit giddy and hyper. We had taken a few swigs of David's brother's pints but none of us were drunk.
We came down Chesire Road. That was when we saw the old hospital. It was abandoned and rundown, and cardboard covered many of the windows, but being a teenager Chris suggested we all go inside. The girls and I were unsure and David was insistant, but Charlie, James, Chris and Connor managed to lure us in.
It was cold inside and the place was crawling with rats. Old vomit covered curtains blew in the wind. Caitlyn turned to go, but the as she did a drop of blood landed on her shoulder. She screamed and a crash was heard from upstairs. A figure of a dripping wet girl appeared beind Caitlyn and ripped out her eyes and dragged her beneath the floorboards. The rest of us turned and ran. All of us made it to the stairs minus Connor. The floorboards collapsed underneath him and he fell screaming into darkness.
Tears streaming down everyone's faces we ran up the stairs, looking, praying for an escape route. Chris and Rosalia were backed up into a corner when to more dripping wet figures appeared behind them. Chris was grabbed and dragged out of the open window, but Rosalia had ducked and dodged the figure. A clawed hand grabbed her ankle and tripped her, then she to was dragged from the room. Rachel through up and Charlie shouted the names of our friends but there was no reply.
A darkness drifted down then. I heard screaming and shouting, but when the darkness lifted, Rachel, Charlie, James, Joe and Megan had disappeared. Gone just like that. In mere seconds.
Only me, Sophie and My girlfriend Saskia remained. We were in an unrecognisable room in which plant life grew. Suddenly, a screaming man with burned flesh and scabbed hands grabbed Saskia by the hair and ripped it from her scalp. The crown of her head was pulled cleanly off, revealing her skull. I tried to force my eyes away but couldn't. Bile rose in my throat.
Saskia was hauled from the room, blood pouring onto the floor. I grabbed Sophie by the hand and ran. We managed to reach a back door and we got into the grounds. A figure burst from the ground and Sophie was pulled down into the undergrowth. I kept on running until I was past the gates. I ran all the way home.
Until this day, none of my friends have been seen again. The police believe they were abducted, but nobody had ever believed my story.
