Ellis tried to stop the screams she was hearing, she pulled up the covers up to her ears. The screams got louder, she almost thought they were coming from her balcony. She couldn't take it anymore.

She threw the covers off and ran to her parents room down the hall. The wooden floor creaked as she ran over it, she pushed Ellis grabbed the handle panting, she pushed it open, only to be engulfed in darkness.

She tried to make her way to her parents bed without bumping into something. The screams seem to have stopped.

She hugged her mum and dad. Ellis couldn't help but feel like someone was standing outside staring through the window right at her.

She told her parents what she heard. Her dad got up, and opened the curtain. Ellis peered out of the window to see dozens of people staring at her, their skin was pale white, and their were no eyes in their sockets.

She screamed, she turned to her dad and hugged him. Her dad picked her up and threw her down the window.

She screamed as the people or zombies grabbed her.She kicked at them as hard as sh could and ran down the street. It seemed that whole city was empty, or worse dead. A eerie silence took over as the moon hid behind clouds. Ellis had reached the forest now. She and her friends thought that forest was haunted, but now she was seeking refuge in it from dead. She couldn't she nor here if anyone was follow her. She ran until she reached and old cabin, it seemed to be abandoned for quite some time now. The door creaked as she opened it. She searched the wall with her hands for light switch, she flicked it on. A little bulb in the middle of the room cast an eerie glow, making the whole house suddenly look more scandalous than it already was. Ellis could see stuffed animal heads, staring at her. She hadn't had time to think over the past events; of the last hour. Her own father threw her over the edge of window! Why? Did she ever do something to make him hate her? But most of all how could she live in this old rusty cabin. Those zombies must be searching for her already, long would it be before they found her little hideout. Were they already in the forest? Here questions remained unanswered.

She thought of how she was pushed down the window. Tears were streaming down her cheeks, her own parents' wanted her dead!

She saw a old lantern on a old rusty table at the corner of the room. Could she find a old matchbox around her. She looked around opened drawers, some were stuck and hard to open others just made sounds. She was about to give up hope when she saw a drawer she hadn't opened. She saw an old dagger and, a matchbox in it. She took the matchbox turned the lantern on and kept the dagger for defense.

She walked up to the second floor, the old wooden steps creaked and, even cracked under her feet. there was one room upstairs. Probably, a bedroom, she opened the old rusty door. There was a old bed inside which seemed to be coated with a layer of thick dirt. She put the lantern on the side and looked around.

Then, she heard the door downstairs open and knew now was her the time she was afraid of; her doom...
