Living in my house for the last nine years has been a lingering nightmare. Day after day, things seem to go from bad to worse in a fraction of a second within the walls of this house. This effect is compounded daily, truly pushing a human to his/her mental breaking point. My home seems very much alive in an extremely unnatural way, almost paranormal. The events and actions that have been witnessed within the last nine years at our home have forced my family to walk away from the house completely.

My wife and I moved to this home back in April 2003. We were very young, happy, and proud of our early accomplishments in life. By 2005, strange events had changed everything in our life; we could barely afford the house; jobs were left, and luck began to run out point blank. The house was slowly consuming more and more of the little time and money we had. We somehow pushed forward. In spring of 2005, I became very ill in my house and had to be taken into emergency surgery. The following year brought on a complete mental breakdown, and I sat in my bedroom for two straight weeks.

The events occurring in the house became more frequent in the fall of 2007, and within two months I had another mental breakdown; I was 27. At this point, I was advised by doctors to take a good long time off from life and work in general. Since December 2007, I have been at my house daily for hours upon hours, and the activity within the home picked up tremendously.

Within weeks of my breakdown, my wife began having trouble sleeping and that was accompanied by nightmares when she could. We began waking up to huge water spots everywhere within the house, on top of tables, on the floor, and many other random unexplainable places. Doing research on the property's past, I discovered that the place where my home sits had been in about twenty feet of water. The developers had drained a small lake that had been here for centuries to build houses.

Our house sat in the heart of the old lake bed and is on a concrete pad where dirt has been moved in to fill in the lake a bit. We just wrote the water off as weird and moved on in our lives.

Within the following two years, our house would claim five desktop computers, two laptops, three stereos, and a DVD player all from electrical surges. My wife's father is a master electrician and came three different times to fix the problem. Each time he spent hours testing, but nothing was found to be wrong. In that same amount of time, two gas water heaters would also be replaced; both began leaking furiously with no warning.

The winter of 2011, our family was struggling hard financially and my wife had to claim bankruptcy at 29. My health was declining from the stress of life and I became sick once again. This time my stomach would be the target of the stress. Much of the spring was spent sick with a bleeding ulcer. We began looking for a way out of our house, and school became a high priority for me. But this path would take some time to manifest though.

In the summer of 2011, my childhood friend moved into one of our spare bedrooms, and the activity took a turn for the worse. My wife has been physically attacked in her sleep weekly or more. Each time leaving clear bruising of what looks to be grab marks from another person.  The bruising would cover most of the arm or leg, but no memory of the attacks would be present in the morning. Our roommate complains about being woken up almost every night at the same time, saying he had never had this problem before. 2011 left the same way it began, and the activity present in the home could no longer be ignored.

In March of 2012, my family's once non-religious views had been changed to the point of daily prayer to help protect ourselves from the house and its activity. My wife and I had seen so much unexplainable events and actions in our home; we went out and secured an apartment. We have slowly been packing what little is left from the financial hardships of the years and relentless bad luck. The house activity has peaked, and we are scared of the future and our lives.

My wife and I have no interest in the house any longer. We have stopped paying on it and are awaiting the beginning stages of foreclosure. Our lives have been changed in a way that can never be undone. We have seen things that cannot be explained by anything except the unnatural or super natural. We have no idea what or if the future holds anything for us. All we know is that for our lives to continue at this point, we have to try and get away from the house.

Creepy, and reminded me of the movie, "The Entity." But what ever happened to the character of the roomate? Did this childhood friend remain in the house?
