The Dream
"Happy birthday!"
All her friends were there, this was the best surprise birthday party Crystal had ever had. She turned and smiled at everyone, everyone she knew and loved was there. Suddenly the fire alarm went off, everyone ran outside but instead of following them Crystal ran into her bedroom and found the source of the fire, her beautiful white sheets were consumed with fire and even as she frantically threw a blanket over the fire in an attempt to put it out she knew there was no use. She ran outside to join the others, little did she know her day could only get worse from here.

The fire truck came speeding around the corner.
"Look out!" Crystal yelled but it was too late, the little bunny hopping across the road was crushed under the weight of the truck. Everyone else was to consumed with watching the fire to see the mutilated bunny start to change. It's little torn body started to twitch and in the blink of an eye the bunny was gone, in its place stood a little black cat. Crystal dared to look at the street where the poor bunny had been killed but was shocked when she saw that there was nothing there..perhaps she had just imagined it....she shook her head and looked back to her house as the firemen tried to save it from being engulfed in the flames. As she watched she felt something tickle on her legs, she glanced down and saw it was a cat.

But as she looked closer she saw that the cat was very sick, it's fur was in patches, it's mouth was foaming, and it had a distant look in its eyes. She turned and ran from the cat, it chased after her foam dripping from its fangs. Running for her life she saw that she was suddenly alone, she stopped running, breathing hard she looked around and saw no one. Where had all her friends gone? Where were the firemen? She turned again and saw that a fountain had come up from the ground. Where had that come from? She went over to it and peered into the water...

"AHHHH" She screamed as a rabid dog jumped out of the water and came right for her. It was a dog that could have haunted any persons worst nightmares. It was so skinny it looked like a skeleton with fur, the fur that it had was scraggly and filthy. It's eyes were yellow and sallow, sunken so deep into its head they could hardly be seen, and it's teeth were fanged and dripping blood. It chased her around the fountain and finally, to tired to run another step, Crystal tripped and as soon as she hit the ground the dog was in top of her snarling in her face.

"Stop! No! Why are you doing this to me?"
Crystal screamed this as the dog mauled her face. Then the most amazing and horrifying thing happened. The dog spoke back. At first it was unintelligible but as Crystal kept fighting back the words became clear.
"Stop! I must follow orders, stop fighting me."
She freaked out and shut her eyes, she put up her hand and felt the most grotesque thing of her life. Her fingers, grasping for anything to hold on to, sunk into the creatures eyes. It was soft and empty. They felt as though they were on fire and she screamed and jerked her hand back.

"Stop poking my eyes!" The monster dog screamed at her
"Stop biting me!" Crystal yelled back, barely conscious.
The dog looked her right in the eyes and she watched as it's bleeding eyes turned black and in a voice that could have only come from the devil himself the demon dog spoke.
"But I like biting people" And then attached its teeth to Crystals throat.

"Happy birthday!" Crystal jerked awake to see her family standing over her with presents and a cake with candles on it. Sweating profusely she glanced behind her mother and say a shadowy figure creep out of sight. She strained her ears and heard a faint voice, as cold as ice, she heard the shadow speak.
"Let the games begin again, happy birthdays Crystal."
