The Devil Inside

Ashley laid restless in his bunk. His mind played tricks on his anxiety and drove him to paranoia. Ashley's brother Jake was starting to get worried of the boys strange behaviour.

One night Jake decided to ask his brother what was going on. Ashley opened up to his brother and said "She's living inside me." At this Jake wasn't sure whether to laugh or encourage his brothers delusional brain. "Who's living in you Ashley?" Jake asks and his brother looks into his eyes giving him a stare he's never seen before. "Whatever freak I'm off to bed." Jake says getting up and heading for the stairs. When he looked back to see why he hadn't gotten an answer he fins his brother had disappeared. Walking back over to the couch he looks behind it expecting his brother to jump out and scare him but find he wasn't there. After searching the lounge room he walks outside slightly scared and shivering. As the winter night nipped at Jakes face he felt an eerie feeling. "Ashley you're not funny!" he shouts while scanning the entire backyard. Giving up on his brother's game he goes back in and heads to bed.

Thump! Thump!

Jake sits up and waits to hear if his parents get up to check out what the thumping noises were. After a while he figured it was just a bin or something outside and went back to sleep. Skeptic to anything supernatural or spiritual he knew that the noises would be explained for.
"Jake..." a girls whisper carries out in the room making him stir a little and mumble incoherent words. The sound of children laughing caused him to sit up and turn on his lamp. "Ashley is that you?" he calls out through the dark and quiet house. "I wanna play Jakey." The girl says followed by more children's laughter. Jake couldn't see who was with him and he could only just make out the voices. "I need to stop watching scary movies." He whispers skeptic to the fact he was alone. All alone with something unseeable. Falling back asleep he sleeps through the rest of the night soundly.

Jake woke up to the sun seeping through his blinds. Getting up he heads down the hall way when he sees trails of blood that ran up and down it. Confused and panicked he ran downstairs to see his mom and dad sat on the couch. He sighed in relief that his parents were alive and ok but that didn't explain the blood upstairs. Sitting on the couch he feels something drop on his lap only to see his mothers severed head. Screaming he stands up and sees his parents had been cut up and then placed to look normal. grabbing his phone he calls 9-1-1 and frantically asks for the police. "Sir what's your emergency?" The operator asks and Jake frantically tells her his parents had been murdered. "Hello?" The operator asks. "I need someone to come quickly my parents have been murdered!" He cries into the phone but the operator hangs up. Jake jumps when the front door creeks open to reveal his brother Ashley. "What the hell did you do?" Ashley says running over to his dead parents. "I didn't do anything." I defend myself. Ashley then starts laughing and picks up our mothers head. "I did say I wanted to play Jakey." Ashley says in the same tone as the girls from last night. Creepy children's laughs echo through the house and Ashley's lips were curled up into a s smile. Ashley rolls his mothers head to Jake's feet. As Jake looks down at his mothers head he meets her lifeless brown eyes. Looking back up he's met with a gust of wind and his brother gone. "Ashley?" Jake calls out scared of the feeling now circling him. "Ashley this isn't..." Jake starts but is cut off when his wind pipe is being crushed. His body is thrown in and threw the wall dividing the Kitchen and lounge. As Jake lays there in agony he hears Ashley's voice. "This is for Inna." He says a sickening grin crossing his face. With those words said Ashley whispers a spell and his brothers body is engulfed with flames.

A month later police are called to the house by neighbours complaining of a horrid smell and no activity from the house. Police assuming the house was abandoned and a dead animal was the cause of the smell, they were left sick to their stomachs to find the real cause of the smell. Once the police manned up they searched the house and found no one. The house was empty apart from the hanging bodies from the ceiling. As the investigators took pictures of the horrid scene and police helped the medics carry out body by body one man started screaming. "What's wrong Sargent Jinxx?" Officer Bell asks. "We're not along." He whispers looking terrified at something behind officer Bell. "What?" Officer Bell asks as he spins around to see what Sargent Jinxx was pointing at. Officer Bell didn't see anything but soon felt a knife plunge through her chest. As she fell to her knees then laid in her final resting spot the house filled with eerie and creepy laughs that belonged to the voices of unrested children souls. As the other police officers and investigators look at the fallen officer, they question how the hell did thin air just kill officer Bell? It wasn't just thin air though I sore with my own eyes a man too beautiful to be real kill officer Bell. A man that didn't look capable of harming a fly. As the man used the now dead officers blood he writes..."See no evil, speak no evil, do no evil." Once he was done gasps were heard and screams of horror broke out. The man I only seemed to be able to see looks up at me and I meet is eyes. my body was over come with fear, anxiety, stress and I felt every single emotion this man held. The emotion I felt was rage and all of a sudden I felt myself grabbing my gun and pulling the trigger as I pointed it at my victims head.
