One of the Cursed

His eyes were bright yellow, piercing through me. He growled at any slight movement I made. Whimpering, I leaned my head back against the tree, closing my eyes waiting for the worst. The only thought was praying it would not hurt too much. Please, let my body be recognizable when this is over. I just wanted it to be a dream. Wolves don't attack humans they say. Not alone at least but, here I was having been chased down by a large vicious wolf. Now I was cornered, with my back against a large tree.

I opened my eyes trying to see why I hadn't been attacked yet. Instead of the wolf, there was a man. He was face to face with me, his body sheltered around mine as he glared at me. He was dirty and smelled musty. There was a feeling of dominance between us. Without thinking I punched him in the face and attempted to run for it. He was much quicker than I. He had tackled me to the ground and pinned me there. His body weight was pressing me into the soft dirt. I cried out, knowing no one could hear me but, maybe by some chance someone would be out there.

My mother always told me to stay out of these woods. There had been stories of people going missing in these woods for years, particularly young girls. She warned there was evil that lurked within these trees. Of course I just thought they were stories. No one had gone missing for years. I'd travel through these woods from work; it was the quickest way home. I'd done it a thousand times and never had a problem until now. It had been late; I had finals in the morning and had agreed to work till midnight but, no later. It was the latest I had ever wandered into these woods. I just wanted to get home and get to bed.
A tear slid down my cheek. My mother would be so, heartbroken. Her pain would be my entire fault. The man was pulling my hair tie out and letting my long black hair fall around me. He ran his hand down the length of it, petting me like I was a possession. Angrily, I turned and kicked him in the groin. He gasped out in pain as I scrambled to my feet. My heart was pounding as I pumped my legs as fast as I could. I had no idea where I was or if I was even going in the right direction. Nothing around me looked familiar. Looking over my shoulder I saw the large black wolf on my heels. He was gaining on me, snapping his teeth with delight of the chase.

I couldn't see the tops of the street lamps and the thought that I was lost crept over me. I cried out in fear. There was nowhere to run to and the thought that this beast had purposely chased me deep into the woods frightened me. Desperate to get away I used my last bolt of energy to hopefully put some distance between us. There wasn't much left, before I knew it I was tiring out and losing speed. The wolf was now snapping at my heels. This was just a game and he knew who the winner was. He ripped my shoe off tripping me. I hit the ground losing my breath for a second. The fall had knocked the wind out of me. As I struggled to breath, the wolf shredded my shoe in triumph. There was no need for my other shoe, so I took it off and hurled it at him. He smoothly moved to the side avoiding it never taking his eyes off me.

To my horror he transformed into the man from before. I was shaking my head with terror because I knew I would pay for my attempt to escape my fate. The man was on top of me quickly, fondly moving his hand through my hair and gently caressing my cheek. My body was trembling uncontrollably with fear. Slowly, I was calming myself, attempting to talk myself through this. His eyes were cutting right through mine and I wanted to turn away but, couldn't. I couldn't make myself break away from his stare and pretty soon I was starting to relax. He nuzzled his nose against mine and then rubbed the side of his face to mine gently. I felt like I had no control over my body anymore. I had no choice but, to submit to him.

He slowly pressed his lips against mine. The moon shining against his perspired body as his muscles rippled with every movement. I was kissing him back to my surprise. Biting his lower lip, as a smile formed across his rugged face. I felt like I was going in heat. My body was hot; I was on fire and pulling my clothes off trying to get air. I moaned as the cool night air hit my skin. "What the hell are you doing?" was racing through my mind. I couldn't control my body, I'd never felt like this before. There was a new sensation running through my body wildly, it wanted him. It was forcing my body to submit to him. He gave me some room as I moved my body teasingly against his. Exotically, I flipped over and presented my back to him. Tossing my hair to the side so, I could look back at him while I pushed my ass out to him, my fingers digging into the cold wet dirt as he took the gift I presented to him.

My memory was vivid the next evening when I awoke. My throat was on fire and my body felt week. My legs were a little shaky and I had a slight pain between them. I was lying naked on a cold dirt floor. There wasn't a lot of light so, everything hit me slowly. I was in some kind of cave, which had a door built into it. There was a mattress with fur blankets and pillows on it. There was a pot hanging above a low fire close by. I stood up and realized there was a chain around my ankle so, I couldn't escape. The fire brought light onto my body and I could see the blood stain that had dried up down both of my legs. I sat down hurriedly, feeling dizzy. I brought my legs to my chest, wrapped my arms around myself and began to weep. I was no longer a virgin.

I felt pathetic after I was done crying. There was a bowl of water sitting with in reach so, I drank it greedily. This was it, I would die out here I thought. I scrambled out of view as the door came open. The man stepped in followed by an older man and woman. There were little children behind them trying to peek in but, their view was cut off after the man shut the door. The woman made her way over to me with a bowl of water and some kind of wash cloth. "It's okay." She reassured me. "I won't hurt you, I promise." Her eyes were pleading with me to trust her. Hesitantly, I made my way over to her glaring at the men out of the corner of my eye. They were speaking lowly to each other. I could only make out a few things. "She doesn't know the way back, I made sure." The man from last night had said. The woman was wiping the dirt off of me gently. "Don't be afraid. They won't hurt you." Her eyes met mine with a smile. "I was just like you once, all the women usually are. You will learn to accept it, and your husband." She smiled. "My husband?" I squeaked. "Your mate, I should say. My son." She handed me the bowl to finish up and wrapped a blanket around me to cover me. I was shaking my head now. "Night will fall soon. It's her first time so, it will be painful but, she will be ready for her first hunt after her transformation." She was speaking to the man from before. The other man put his hand on his shoulder and together he and the woman disappeared, leaving me alone with him.
I started feeling ill, and was getting hot again. I started to cry out with pain as my bones started cracking. They felt as though they were beginning to break. I wailed in horror. The man opened the door and calmly walked over to me. He released me from my shackle but, I couldn't run. The pain was too great. I writhed around on the floor sweating and convulsing. My hands began to grow hair and change before my eyes. Soon I was on my feet, staring back at the black wolf. He nuzzled my nose then playfully nipped at me. Together we ran out into the night in the shelter of the woods.

I should have listened to my mother. If I would have stayed out of the woods I wouldn't be here right now preying on campers; Salivating at the thought of their warm blood in my mouth, as I crept up to their campsite with my mate at my side ready for my first kill. If I had heeded my mother's warnings, I wouldn't be one of the cursed.
