I was a very lonely as a child. My parents would send me to all kinds of activities to make new friends but to no avail. I would just stay indoors, living in a busy city I wasn't really allowed to venture off by myself.

Things changed when I hit ten years old, my mother decided that city life was too hectic for both of us. So she and my father moved to a quiet new existence in the country. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to have my little adventures in the woods behind the large garden we were fortunate enough to have.

One day while in the woods, I met a boy similar to my age, Dennis he called himself. He was fun. We would play on a tree swing for hours, though he never wanted to leave the wooded area to meet my parents. Of course they were curious to meet him in person as I had such difficulty finding friends.

After a few weeks, I noticed that Dennis wasn't as much fun to be around any more. He would ask me to stay out later than I was permitted so I felt a bit of bad blood between us over the fact. He would also ask me to venture deep into the woods to his secret place but being a recluse I wasn't brave enough.

One night, I lay awake after my parents had gone to bed and I heard a tapping at my window. To my suprise Dennis was outside. "Come with me, I have something I need you too see" he said gleefully. I had let him down so many times in our friendship that I couldn't bare the thought of losing my only friend, so I reluctantly crept out of my house and joined him.

We walked into the wood. Something was not right. There wasn't a single noise. Not the usual barn owl or any wildlife at all. I started to feel uneasy at this point then Dennis disappeared into a very dark but rather small cavern. "Come and see what I did in here" he gleefully said. I was afraid of the dark and didn't dare go inside such a blackened small cave. Then things started to get very creepy.

"Come with me" he mumbled but this time in a lower and gruffer voice, still I refused to go inside with him. By now he was just a shadow in the swirling blackness. "Come in here with me NOW!!!!" this time I froze in fear, this was not the voice I had grown to love, this was a voice of hatred and malice. "If you don't come with us I'll never speak to you again!!!!" this time a wave of terror completely took over my body. Did he just say "come with us?" with that thought I ran back to my home as fast as my tiny leg would allow.
I awoke the next day and after much deliberation I decided to tell my parents what I had done that evening. Of course they insisted that I took them to the spot we were at immediately. That's where my ongoing nightmare began. We found the place after a short while of looking and found that there was more inside than a simple cavern. There was a set of beds and empty food tins that suggested someone had been living there for months. Also was clothes that belonged to Dennis and sets of clothes for a male adult.
We were all freaking out by now but continued to search the deep cavern to find any signs of Dennis and whoever he had been there with. My dad led the way, and upon entering the deepest end of the cavern he gave out a blood curdling scream as he illuminated his pathway. Blood stained all of the walls and bones in different stages of decay scattered the floor. My thoughts were racing, was I to be a victim lured here by Dennis and an unknown man?

Years had passed and many therapy sessions to end the torment of night terrors I would get from the horror I had seen that day. We all moved to another part of the country. I grew up and married a daughter of the local vicar. She bore a girl and a boy and we were quite blissful in our quaint little existence. My son Kristian always liked to venture off alone. One evening after a full day out on his bike just being a normal child. I asked where he had been and what he did with his day. Then a chilling sentence left his lips "I met a friend of yours dad, he lives in the woods, his name is Dennis"
